I have been an educator in Mathematics over the past 7 years, teaching and grooming students of grades 9-12 in School Curriculums, Olympiads, Advanced Programs and Competitive Mathematics across US, UK, Middle East, Australia and India; graduates and undergraduates for the Common Aptitude Test (CAT). Having completed my Bachelors in Statistics, a 98 percentile in CAT 2022, and thereafter training 100+ students to this day, I find it necessary as a teacher to focus on basic concept development of students, giving them individual attention to attend to their needs, match the student's pace of learning, and most importantly, make a class and a topic as relevant and engaging as can be made for the student to engage deeper into it. The purpose of an educator is not merely the dispersal of knowledge, but creating an environment of comfort for a student to learn, understand and analyse the details of their academic needs, and instill in them a sense of interest in a subject, from where they can boost their skills spontaneously. It is equally important for the process of learning to be mutual, where both the mentor and student are prepared to have the flexibility of learning and improvising. The classes conducted are primarily sectioned into two categories, the first for an in-depth theoretical understanding of the topic which forms the foundational basis of learning, followed by rigorous practice sessions to sharpen the problem solving ability of the student. Platforms like IXL, AoPS are used for the same according to the need of the student. Regular tests are so conducted to keep track of the student's progress over time. Classes (except for CAT) are conducted one-on-one for a completely personalised and curated learning experience.
