This refund policy applies to all transactions on Stu-Teach. Please read it carefully before making any payments.
General Refund Guidelines
We strive to ensure your satisfaction with our services. However, refunds are subject to the specific terms outlined below for different types of transactions.
Subscription and Coin Purchases
No Refund on Purchased Subscriptions
Once a subscription or premium membership is activated, it is non-refundable. Please review the features and pricing before subscribing.
Money Deducted but Services Not Received
If money was deducted from your account but you didn't receive the services (coins, subscription, etc.), you will receive an automatic refund from your bank within a maximum of 14 days. In most cases, this happens much faster.
If we receive the payment (usually within 24 hours), we will credit the services to your account and send you a confirmation email.
When Teachers Contact Students
Automatic Refunds for Unverified Students
If a teacher spends coins to contact a student whose phone number is not verified, and the student doesn't read the message within 15 days, we automatically refund the coins to the teacher.
Refunds for Fake/Spam Job Posts
We automatically refund coins if teachers spend them on fake, spam, or scam job postings. Our system actively monitors and removes such listings.
When Students Contact Teachers
Coins used to contact a tutor (free or paid) are not refunded if you are unable to reach the tutor for any reason. Please:
- Check the tutor's profile thoroughly before contacting
- Read reviews and ratings from other students
- Verify the tutor's availability and response time
Payments to Tutors
Outside Platform Payments
If you make any payment to a tutor outside of our website, we cannot help with refunds. Always use our secure payment system to ensure protection.
Through Platform Payments
When you pay tutors through Stu-Teach:
Choose Release Option Carefully
- "Release payment after work is complete" - Recommended for new engagements
- You can dispute the payment if there's a problem
- Payment is held until you confirm satisfactory service
- "Release payment immediately" - Only for trusted tutors
- Confirms you've received satisfactory service
- Cannot be refunded after release
Our Service Fee
- We charge a 15% service fee (taken from tutor's account)
- 5% is a fixed, non-refundable fee for platform maintenance
- 10% is variable - refunded proportionally with partial refunds
Refund Examples
- Full refund (100%): You receive 95%, we keep 5% fixed fee
- Partial refund (50%): You receive 45%, tutor keeps 45%, we keep 10%
- No refund: Tutor keeps 85%, we keep 15%
Dispute Resolution
In case of a dispute between student and tutor:
- Try to reach a mutual settlement first
- If no settlement, contact our support team with evidence
- Our decision will be final and binding
- We review: work quality, communication records, agreement terms
Tutor Service Issues
Refunds may be granted if:
- Tutor doesn't deliver agreed-upon services
- Quality is significantly below promised standards
- Tutor becomes unresponsive after payment
- Fraudulent activity is detected
How to Request a Refund
- Go to your transaction history
- Click on the disputed transaction
- Click "Request Refund" and provide details
- Attach any supporting evidence (screenshots, chat logs, etc.)
- Our team will review within 3-5 business days
